Statement by the Artist

As a painter my aim is to guide the viewer from common internal divisions, such as love, lust, will and desire, into full integration of their experiential thought processes.  Sensuality as sustenance is the vehicle by which my political views are delivered in my paintings. From the historical to the contemporary, from the personal to the political, my conjured archetypal beauties theatrically dramatize the dysfunctional relationship between master and slave and all within an orgiastic context.  By overlapping the background, mid-ground and foreground, my emblematic figures, compositionally relate attitudes and precepts that traditionally evade discussion in western culture.  In my paintings the past and future are together in the present or actual, sustained in an erotic resonance, evoking cultural constructs that serve to lampoon the engineering of patriarchal dualism, while representing beauty through truth.
